San Juan Capistrano, California
The Swallows Return
on the Feast of St. Joseph. February 17. Swallow's Day Heritage Festival
(mid-March)
The swallows return from South America and the 200-year-old Spanish mission of
San Juan Capistrano welcomes them with a traditional ceremony held each year on Mar 16 and a parade and procession on Mar 23
that is billed as the largest non-motorized parade in the United States.
Throughout the week, a number of events are held in the town of San Juan

Vermont
Cycle Vermont, Late September
to mid-October. Although you can bicycle through Vermont much
of the year, this period is timed to coincide with the maximum
fall color. Bring your own bikes or rent. Stay in farmhouses or

of every July.
The world's largest annual flower show. In the pastr few years, this show
has become almost as well-established as the one in Chelsea. Held at magnificent Hampton Court,
the former home of Henry VIII, the show also features musical entertainmemnt and crafts displays.
